The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the redeployment of four Commissioners of Police for a more effective and efficient policing in line with its commitment to re-enginer the force for optimal results.
The senior officers affected are CP Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, the Commissioner of Police, Armament, who is now in charge of the Edo State Command; CP David A. Akinremi, Commissioner of Police/Deputy Force Secretary, who has been moved to head the Taraba State Command.
Acting CP Garba Baba Umar is redeployed from Bayelsa State Command to Anambra State Command and CP Lawan Ado, Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, FCIID, has been posted to head the Kwara State Command.

Confirming the redeployments in a statement, Ikechukwu Ani, spokesman of the commission said the postings have been communicated to the Inspector General of Police for implementation in a letter signed by Musa Istifanus, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Commission.
Chairman PSC, Dr. Mike Okiro, IGP (rtd) in the statement urged the affected officers to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation.
He urged them to quickly settle down and face squarely the peculiar challenges of their respective State Commands even as he noted that they would be held responsible for any proven act of omission or commission in their states.
Dr. Okiro said the Commission will continue to play a fatherly role and will support and encourage them in the discharge of their duties.
