Python Dance 2: GOC 82 DIV, Maj-General Abubakar Flags off Free Medical Outreach in Abia State.

 In continuation of the special security and training programme of the Army for the South East, ‘Exercie Egwu Eke 11’, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major AB Abubakar in line with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) directive, has at about 10.30am on Tuesday, 3rd October 2017, flagged off an elaborate medical outreach in Ovim, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. 

 The Chairman Hon Nnamdi Udueze and traditional rulers of Ovim and adjoining villages as well as the former Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika and his wife Mrs. Nneka Ihejirika attended the event.

 In his remarks at the occasion, the GOC thanked the people and the leaders of various communities that collectively, and in large numbers, graced the event.

One interesting aspects of the Exercise was the generous donation of rice, dental, optometry services, malaria and deworming tablets, eye glasses, treated mosquito nets to the locals among others.

Similarly, in addition to deworming tablets, school children were given packets of biscuits, chewing gum and chocolates.

General Ihejirika on behalf of the community expressed appreciation to the COAS Lt. General TY Buratai for the humanitarian assistance to the community.

He said, “I am increasingly happy with some of the achievements of the Nigerian Army under the current leadership. This kind of medical outreach is remarkable” Ihejirika added.
