Raid on Senator Dino Melaye’s House: Nigeria turning into a Police State- Secondus warn

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has raised alarm that Nigeria is turning into a Police state and the attention of the global community is drawn to the emerging trend ahead of the general election.

Reacting to the Police invasion of the Abuja home of a serving Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial zone, Senator Dino Melaye on Friday, Prince Secondus said its a clear sign that the country’s security situation has deteriorated greatly into a police state.

He said in a statement from his media office that the international watchers should take copious note of the brazing intimidation of persons who returned to PDP from APC while those who crossed over to APC are glorified.

The National Chairman said that APC has become a safe heaven even for all those with questionable back who crossed over to the APC while their counterparts who have nothing incrementing on them are hounded by agents of state.

According to the National Chairman, all these nefarious actions are designed to cow the opposition but warned that anything aimed at thwarting the will of the people would be stoutly resisted.

The National Chairman berated President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for launching a program of intimidation and harassment aimed at cowing the opposition.

“Having lost the legitimacy of the people because of their clear lack of direction and poor governance, they have resorted to undemocratic means to retain power at all cost.

“But their agenda will fail woefully because Nigerians have resolved to save their democracy and move the nation forward.
