The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and the National Water Resources Institute on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will lay the groundwork for future collaboration in the Post Graduate studies, exchange of scholars and joint research on water resources and it’s various applications.
In his remark at the signing ceremony, Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, disclosed that the Academy has entered into the collaboration in order to broaden the scope of learning and research as well as improve it’s service delivery.
He said the MoU signed between the two institutions will yield a lot of fruits that would be beneficial, not only to both institutions but to the nation at large.
Furthermore, General Oyebade assured that the Academy will provide the platform and all necessary facilities needed to ensure the MoU works.

Earlier on, the Executive Director of the National Institute for Water Resources, Professor Emmanuel Adanu, said that the institute was interested in furthering research on water recycling as well as the different types of water and its applications.
Professor Adanu who lamented on the current trend of sweeping water research results under the carpet, stressed the need for collaboration with institutions like the Nigerian Defence Academy that will help transform and transfer such fundings into reality.
He also promised to make available all necessary training instructions and equipment, with a view to helping NDA expand the scope of these researches.
While thanking the Commandant for making the MoU possible, Professor Adanu gave assurances that the institution is committed to the terms of the MoU and will abide strictly by the spirit and letters of the agreement.
The signing of the MoU comes days after the Academy signed another MoU with Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, in which NDA is to provide the platform for Post Graduate studies in engineering for students of the polytechnic.
