Retired Nigerian Airforce Officer, Air Commodore Felix Obiuwevbi Dies in Abuja.

A retired Airforce senior officer, Air Commodore Felix Obiuwevbi, NAF/777 has died in Abuja after illness

He was said to have died on Saturday at his home in the Kuje district of FCT at about 7.40pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

The senior officer who hails from Agbara Otor in Ughelli Local Government Area of Delta State, was a member of the 16th Regular Course of NDA and National Defence College, NDC Course 10.

He reportedly suffered a prolonged ailment and the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force was very supportive to his medical tourism for which he was in India on 3 occasions.

Air Commodore Sani Zakari retired who confirmed the demise of the senior officer said, “The corpse has been deposited at NAF Hospital Morgue in Abuja pending a decision on the funeral.

The 71 years old Air Commodore Felix Obiuwevbi is survived by one wife Mrs Regina Obiuwevbi and 3 female adult children (Akpesiri, Omonigho & Akperwe) plus 2 grand children.

During his lifetime he served the NAF in several units, formations and foreign locations including Germany, Singapore and more. He retired at Abuja and settled in Kuje.

Commodore Zakari said, “A Condolence Register has been opened at the residence if Obiuwevbi and the bereaved family is receiving guests at his home No 034 Usman Ugogbe Street Staff Qtrs Kayadda Kuje Abuja.

The first retirees NAF condolence team at the house were led by Air Vice Marshals S Gberevbie, C Okafor, C Aroriode, C Ohwo, Air Commodore MM Igho and Air Commodore SA Zakari all rtd.

NAFROWA members who visited the family include Dr Mrs Aroriode, Mrs Jummai Ohwo Mrs Igho and more.
