Rumours of Siege: Ogun State Police Command Deploys Federal SARS, MOPOL & Anti-Cultist Units Across State.

Following wicked rumours making the rounds that cultists have over run the Mowe area of Ogun State and attacked and injured the DPO of Mowe, resulting in panic, the Ogun State Police command has deployed Special Forces to the nooks and crannies of the state.

The command also denied allegations and rumours of any siege in Mowe or any part of the state or attack on the DPO of Mowe.

A statement signed by ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, PRO of the Ogun Command said, “The attention of Ogun State Command has been drawn to rumor going round that there is a siege on Mowe area of Ogun State as a result of cult related activities.

“The rumor also has it that the DPO of Mowe Divisional Headquarters was attacked and seriously injured by the cultist.

“The Command wouldn’t have dignified the rumor with a response but members of the public have to be properly informed and that is why we are making the following clarifications.

“There is no siege whatsoever in Mowe or any part of Ogun State.

“The DPO Mowe or any officer of Ogun State Police Command has not been attacked or injured by anybody.

“That Command is not unaware of speculation that some cult groups want to celebrate what they termed 7/7 with the view of causing mayhem.

“In view of the speculation, the Command has deployed large number of men of its special unit such as FSARS, PMF as well as Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultist unit, in conjunction with other Conventional Police deployment across the length and breadth of the State to forestall any act capable of undermining the security of the citizens.

“The Command hereby urges members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation from anybody, and also to quickly notify the Police if any strange face/movement /gathering is noticed in their area.”
