Safe Schools Initiative: Commandant, NSCDC Kaduna State Command visits GOC 1 Division; Seeks Collaboration

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Major General Mayirenso Lander Saraso, on Friday, 11 October 2024 hosted the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command, Commandant MB Nuhu Dansadau at the Division’s Headquarters in Kaduna.
General Saraso congratulated Commandant Dansadau on his recent appointment and emphasized the collective responsibility of all agencies, including the civil populace, in maintaining national security.
He highlighted the importance of ongoing joint operations such as the “Safe School Initiative,” where NSCDC is expected to play the leading role in safeguarding schools and protecting vulnerable communities.
General Saraso also called for more collaboration and an increase in the number of NSCDC Agro Rangers personnel in vulnerable communities such as Birnin Gwari, Kajuru, Giwa and other LGAs in Kaduna State where farmers and law-abiding citizens are frequently being harassed by criminals.
Commandant  Dansadau appreciated the Nigerian Army’s support in securing vital national assets, including schools and oil pipelines and requested continuous intelligence sharing to strengthen the bond between the two Organizations.
Highlights of the visit were the signing of the visitor’s book, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
