Col Sagir Musa, Acting Director Army Public Relations pays working visit to NASPRI; tasks officers on excellence, selfless service.

The Acting Director, Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col Sagir Musa on Thursday paid his maiden working visit to the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) in Bonny Cantonment, Lagos where he tasked officers and students currently on course the need for discipline, professionalism and excellent civil military relations in their service to to the Nigerian Army and the nation.

Col Sagir Musa who was received by NASPRI Acting Commandant, Col Mustapha Anka told the students that present day Nigerian Army has keyed into the mission and vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai which is to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional roles and to achieve  excellence, healthy competition among personnel of the service and the increasing desire for excellent public relations and information management skills.

Col Sagir Musa informed the NASPRI family that the Chief of Army Staff has graciously approved financial and logistical requirements for  2019 Directorate of Army Public Relations Study Period and Media Facility visit which will be conducted soon in 1 Division and 81 Division Areas of Responsibilities.

He received briefings inside the office of the Commadant NASPR,I Col MA Anka in the presence of NASPRI Principal Staff Officers, Deputy Director Army Public Relations 81 Division and other Assistant Directors of the Army Public Relations serving in some units and formations of the Nigerian Army in 81 Division Area of Responsibility.

The Army Spokesman also used the opportunity to separately warn the officers and students to desist from any conduct that will negatively affect the image of the Nigerian Army.

He reminded them of the need for professionalism, responsiveness, working within stipulated rules and regulations as well as improved/excellent civil-military relations, in line with the desire/directive of the Chief of Army Staff.

During the visit, the Acting Commandant made a detailed presentation of the School’s training packages, features, achievements, prospects, challenges and recommendations.

Col Musa appreciated the Commandant for his achievements and promised a follow-up on the recommendations.

He later also took a tour round the school.
