President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening summoned a special security meeting with members of the National Security Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting started immediately after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided over by the Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo.
The meeting comes days after local and international outrage after the Boko Haram sect killed an aid worker of the ICRC, Hauwa Liman in the northeast geopolitical zone.
The National Security Council is made up of the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan- Ali, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin and Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai.
Others are the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, IGP Ibrahim Idris, Director General of Department for State Service (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, AVM Sani Usman.
