Security operatives said to be from the ICPC, on Wednesday raided the house of the former vice president, Arch. Namadi Sambo.
It was gathered that the operatives stormed the residence of the former VP located at Alimi road Kaduna at about 3pm Wednesday.
Sources disclosed that the operatives arrived the residence in a bus, two hilux vans/bullion van and raided the house for two hours.
A family source said it was combined team of security operatives including an anti-graft agency.
But an official at EFCC as well as the Nigerian Police stated that their operatives were not part of the raid on Sambo’s residence.
A source in Sambo’s residence later on Wednesday said the raid was carried out by operatives of ICPC and DSS.
“They came with heavily armed security personnel for two hours between 3pm and 5pm,” the source said.
When newsmen arrived the Alimi residence of the former number two citizen, fierce looking security operatives threatened journalists if they got closer to the house.
It later emerged that the team had repeatedly raided the house of the former VP on several occasions.
‘We are not sure whether this time they found something in the house. The presence of the bullion van raised our suspicions.
Also when contacted, a source close to the former VP said the operatives had raided the house for the fifth time and nothing has been found.
Sambo who was vice President to ex President Goodluck Jonathan had been relatively quiet since their defeat in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
His recently visited acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa.
