Former Senator who represented Ekiti North Senatorial District at the National Assembly from 2007 to 2011, Ayo Arise, has been abducted by unknown gunmen along Okene-Abuja Highway.

It was gathered from family sources the Senator who defected from PDP to APC in 2014, was on his way to Abuja from Akure when he was abducted with the kidnappers demanding the payment of N80 million to free him.
Arise, defected to the All Progressives Congress after losing out in the power play that followed the emergence of Ayodele Fayose as the governorship candidate of the PDP in 2015 in the state.
Family sources were however non-committal on the next line of action.                               Â
