The Nigeria and Niger Republic Armed Forces held a security Conference at Maladi Security Conference Hall, Maladi, Niger Republic on Thursday 7 September 2018.
The Conference which aimed at brainstorming with a view to proffering lasting solutions to security challenges posed by armed bandits around border between Nigeria and Niger Republic lasted over 7 hours.
The Nigeria delegation led by the Commander 1 Brigade who is also Commader Sector 3, Operation Sharan Daji, Brigadier General LKN Udeagbala was received at Maladi, Niger Republic by the Leader of Nigerien delegates, Col Ibrahim Garba Oumarou.

The Conference reviewed the security situation vis a vis existing military operations in the two countries and reached consensus on joint collaboration that would finally put an end to banditry and other elements of criminal activities around the borders.
The security Conference was a follow up to similar meeting early in September 2018 held at Diffa, Niger Republic.
Delegates from Nigeria at the Conference include Commander’s 17 Brigade and that of 8 Military Intelligence Brigade, Brig Gens LT Omoniyi and JY Maina respectively.
Others are CO, 35 Battalion, Lt Col UG Okodaso, Commader Sector 2, Major SS Suleiman, Commander 207 QRG NAF Squadron Leader ST Akinbohun and few Principal Staff Officers of Operation Sharan Daji.
