Southern Kaduna Crisis: Utomi, Civil Society Leaders to engage Stakeholders; as 13-year old is killed as gun men attack Kaduna village.

13-year-old boy Yahaya Musa has been killed in Zankan village, a Fulani settlement in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Sources disclosed that the gunmen came to the village in an unidentified car around 8.30pm on Saturday and opened fire.
A resident who pleaded anonymity for fear of being attacked, said, “The gunmen came in a car and opened fire on residents of the village. They killed a 13-year-old boy and injured five others.”
In a related development, a resident of Zangon Kataf, Danjuma Musa has accused the locals in the area of stealing his N40, 000, his phone and taking the key of his motorcycle on Thursday.
He said, “I was passing by the Zangon Kataf General Hospital on my motorcycle when I saw a large crowd of Fulani women hanging around the hospital. I wanted to pass, but my mind told me to come back and find out if all was well.
 They said all was well, but as I was about getting on my motorcycle, I saw two Zangon Kataf youths that I knew, so I stopped and said hello only for them to ask me to come down from the motorcycle.
They collected my valuables, including N40, 000, my phone, motorcycle key and ATM cards, after which they took me inside the hospital premises and threatened to kill me.”
He said Civil Defence personnel intervened to secure his freedom but his belongings had not been returned by the boys.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu, Usman confirmed both incidents and said they were being investigated.
 
Meanwhile, a Civil Society group in Nigeria, the Civil Society Conflicts Intervention Team has initiated an all-inclusive mechanism of engaging stakeholders over the lingering Southern Kaduna bloodletting and Violence
The new group comprising some eminent leaders of thought is jointly led by Prof Pat Utomi of the Nigeria Political Summit Group, NPSG and Prof Mallam Jibo Ibrahim of the Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD.
According to a statement issued by the Head of the Team’s Publicity, Mallam Naseer Kura on Sunday in Abuja the team which was inaugurated on Thursday in Abuja is set to interface with the Nigerian Presidency, Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna State, and the 3 Senators from Kaduna.
Also to attend the interface are representatives of the four earlier peace initiatives working on the Southern Kaduna crisis as well as eminent leaders of thought from the Southern Kaduna region among others
Some notable members of the team at the Abuja technical parley of the group include; Prof Pat Utomi, who chaired the meeting, Mrs. Charity Shekari, Prof Kole Shettima, Ms Bolanle Onagoruwa,  Barr. Wakili Kadima, Engr. Janet Adeyemi, Mr. Bash Olasupo, Secretary of the team, Olawale Okunniyi among others.
The statement said, “What is happening today in Southern Kaduna and other parts of Nigeria is quite heart rendering and worrisome and requires a collaborative effort of all stakeholders  to bring to normalcy as expressed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in his last visit to the Niger Delta
“Thus, we wish to call on all stakeholders and all concerned parties in the Southern Kaduna Crisis to sheathe swords and embrace dialogue in the interest peace and progress of the state”, Mallam Kura said.
