2024 Staff Course Qualifying Exams: TRADOC Commander, Major Gen Aligbe Inaugurates Nigerian Army Examination  Panel, Charges them to be Above Board

The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe has inaugurated the Examination Panel for 2024 Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination (SSCQE) with a challenge to members to be above board.
The inauguration ceremony held at the Joeseph  Garba  Hall, Post Graduate School of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in Kaduna State on Sunday 4th August 2024.
Maj Gen Aligbe who doubles as the Examination President, charged the sixty – six  panelists to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He disclosed that their nomination to participate in the exercise was
based  on thier high level of integrity, honesty and professional competence.
The Commander TRADOC NA therefore urged them to be above board and to adhere to the principles of fairness, thoroughness and uprightness in the conduct of the examination.
Gen Aligbe added that as  responsible and diligent senior officers of the NA, they must shun all acts that could undermine the sanctity of the examination.
Consequently, he congratulated them for the unique opportunity to serve and enjoined them to put in their best .
The Examination President also  emphasized on the criticality of the SSCQE as one of the core determinants of the candidate’s career progression which must be handled by panelists based on objectivity and transparency as contained in the NA Examination Charter.
The Commander TRADOC told the panelists that they have come to assess the officers who are to work with them in meeting the objectives of national defence and security imperatives.
Maj Gen Aligbe reminded the panelists of the guidelines guiding the setting of the examination pursuant to the Nigerian Army standard in order to achieve smooth conduct of the examination.
He added that they must be meticulous and fair in setting the examination towards achieving the end state of prodding the officers’ ability to solve problems rather than seeing the examination as a weeding process.
Furthermore, he stated that the examination should help the NA to produce problem-solving officers in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy which is “To transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, well equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment”.
Earlier, the Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Olufemi Oluyede represented by the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre,  Brig Gen Hassan Bello, welcomed the Commander TRADOC NA and his team to Kaduna for the conduct of SSCQE 2024 and congratulated the panelists for their well deserved nomination.
He also stated that  it has always been an honour for the Infantry Corps to be considered worthy of hosting the all important examination, year-in year-out.
Maj Gen Oluyede described the examination as a catalyst for career progression of the candidates adding that “it will equip the candidates with requisite knowledge that will help them in playing active roles in support of the NA in meeting the objectives of the nation’s defence and security”.
He also assured the Examination President and his team of the readiness of the Headquarters Infantry Corps in ensuring a hitch free examination.
Major Gen Oluyede also drew the attention of the panelists to the  need for them to be individually and collectively security conscious, especially with the ongoing protests in many parts of the country.
The ceremony had in attendance the Chief of Training TRADOC  NA, Maj  Gen Peter Okoye, representatives of the Army Headquarters, Acting Director Examination TRADOC NA  Principal Staff Officers of the Headquarters Infantry Corps  as well as observers.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, the panelists had undergone a special session  to refresh their memories  which was co-ordinated by the Acting Director Examination TRADOC NA, Brig Gen Godwin Nwamba.
