The Management and the entire Staff of the Ministry of Defence mourn with the Permanent Secretary on the demise of his father, Alhaji Abubakar O.E Kana (Dan Masanin Edege) .
Alhaji Kana passed on at the age of 84, after a brief illness in the early hours of Friday, 2nd June, 2023 in Abuja.

Abubakar Kana was the first Commissioner of Nasarawa State between 1994-1996. He was also the Chairman, Teacher’s Service Commission, Keffi Local Government as well as the Pioneer Registrar of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Kana was also a philanthropist who dedicated his life to the service of country and community. His legacy will live on through the impact he made on the lives of many.
He is survived by a wife, children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Amongst the children is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana.
