Stop destroying institutions-Secondus warns Buhari, Says he has failed; Berates El Rufai

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has warned President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to stop destroying institutions of state just because it’s being rejected by Nigerians and wants to manipulate the electoral process.

Prince Secondus cried out that APC in their desperation and confusion is destroying institutions like Police and the military by intervening on their day to day running including determining posting of officers.

The National Chairman’s warning came as he addressed large crowd of party supporters who thronged the Katsina state sports stadium on Thursday to welcome the party’s Presidential train that arrived the home of President Buhari to behold unprecedented mass of heads.

Prince Secondus said in a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, that the APC is destroying institutions like Police and the military by trying to influence their postings for nefarious roles on the Election Day.

But the National Chairman reiterated his earlier position that PDP and its supporters will not accept the result of election not derived from the votes of the Nigerian people.

He told the jubilant supporters who shouted Atiku! Atiku! that their large turn out showed clearly that their son the President failed them pointing out that hunger and poverty recognizes nobody.

“What President Buhari and his party bequeathed the people of Katsina and Nigeria in the last three and half years is not but hunger and unemployment.

Prince Secondus said that the in coming President the PDP is presenting to Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, is a symbol of unity and a man who has excelled in public and private sectors and therefore well equipped to rescue Nigeria.

The National Chairman also blasted the Governor of Kaduna state Nasir el rufai for his reckless threat on election foreign observers reminding him that in 2015 he and other APC leaders visited US and Europe begging for observers to come only to be threatening them now just because his party is losing.

He said that no amount of threat will deter observers and other critical players in global democracy from carrying out their responsibility to Nigeria and democracy

“They are threatening everybody including foreigners, they want to kill opposition leaders but they will never be able to kill the will of Nigeria people who have resolved to rescue their country from their hands.

The Presidential candidate Atiku assured the people of Katsina that his Presidency will address the numerous challenges confronting the people which the APC administration has failed to address despite their promise to do it.

The high points of the Katsina state rally was the courtesy call on the Emir of Daura, Dr Umar Farouk, the home emirate of President Buhari, the Emir of Katsina, Kabiru Usman and the home of the Yar Aduas where the Presidential candidate met with their mother who prayed for him.

From the highly successful rally in Katsina, the Presidential train moves to the North Central state of Benue on friday.
