Students, Stakeholders warned on Negative Consequences of Cultism, Other Vices

This reminder was made known by the Enugu State Police Public Relations officer and the National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against cultism and other vices.

Superintendent of Police, Ebere Amaraizu on Thursday 4th July,2019 while addressing students and some stake holders at the Professor Iloeje Auditorium Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu on the occasion of One day seminar on Security, Health, Relationship and Enterpreneur organized by the office of the Vice President of the student union Government of the institution.

According to Amaraizu, cultism has gradually found its way into our communities leading to artisans involvement and a situation that spells doom for our society and the future of youth but maintained that the inspector General of Police, IGP Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, was committed towards ending the menace of cultism and other vices in our various communities through its nationwide and invigorated police campaign Against cultism and other vices otherwise known as POCACOV.

This is not a fight but a strategic campaign aimed at countering this dangerous narratives of cultism and other vices thereby making our society and community safe as well as saving our youth from the claws of this dangerous narratives.

The inspector General of police has structured the programme in such a manner that it would be diligently deployed in the various communities in all the states including the federal capital territory.

Amaraizu however warned the students and stakeholders to be security conscious in terms of who becomes their friend and the kind of life he or she lives.

You have to resist the temptation of joining any cult group and exam malpractice for whatever reason because it is an ill wind that blows no body any good.

Don’t destroy your future by shunning cultism and other vices and becoming meaningful to yourself and to your society.

No fewer than three thousand students and stakeholders attended the all important seminar which featured Health Talk and presentations by Dr Sylvester Ogbodo.

There was talk and presentations by Dr obiageli Pat Ndu the general manager of Solid 100.9fm Enugu and also the one from prof Stanley Okereke ,Head of department Bio chemistry Abia state university dwelling on Enterpreneur.

Highlight of the seminar was the drama presentations by the students group on the dangerous effect of cultism and other vices in our schools,communities and the need to eschew them .
