The Borno State Police Command has said that an attempted suicide bombing attack on the University of Maiduguri by a suspected Boko Haram bomber was foiled on Monday, 19th February 2018.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the command said, “On Monday 19 February 2018 at about 7.20pm, a male suicide bomber strapped with Improvised Explosive Device, made an attempt to cross over University of Maiduguri parapet.

He was promptly sighted by security operative, who opened fire at the bomber.
As a result the IED strapped to his body exploded, killing the bomber alone.
There was no other casualty.
