Suspected Cultists Invade Abraka Market, Open Fire; Kill 4 Persons Injure 5 others; Police arrest 2.

The Police in Delta State on Friday disclosed that suspected members of the Independent Peoples of Biafra have invaded a market in Abraka, Delta State and opened fire on traders going about the lawful activities.

At the end of the shooting, four innocent persons were killed while five others sustained bullet wounds and were rushed to hospital where they are receiving medical attention.

The Police however disclosed that some of the suspects involved in the dastardly act have been arrested.

A statement from the office of CP Ibrahim Zanna, CP Delta State giving details said, “On Thursday September 2017, at about 10.45am information was received that three unknown Gun men, all wearing black dresses suspected to be IPOB or Cult members, stormed Abraka Market which is predominantly inhabited by non-indigenes, opened fire indiscriminately, shot and killed four persons.

“Those killed are Usman Abdullahi 45yrs, Ali Sidi, 70YRS, Ibrahim Zubairu 30yrs and Hauwa Snu 22yrs while five others sustained bullet wounds but are responding to treatment at F.M.C Hospital, Asaba.

The Police said the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.

“Meanwhile crack Police teams led by the officer in charge the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crimes Squad, SAKCSS, stormed 7-Stars Hotel, Abraka, and based on tip-off.

Consequently, one Abrahan Ndudi 24yrs of Kwale, Delya State, Okereke Ifeanyi 21yrs from Ogbaru in Anambra State and the arrested suspects were smoked out hiding inside the ceiling of the hotel were said to have escaped into.

The third culprit identified and known as “Last Burial” escaped. The duo has been identified as among the attackers and further investigation is ongoing.
