The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State CP Don Awunah, on Wednesday 14th June 2017 paid a courtesy call on the National Security and Civil Defense Corp Akwa Ibom State Command.
Speaking during the visit, the CP expressed delight at the warm reception accorded him.
He reiterated the need for security agencies to synergize especially the Police and NSCDC whose functions are quite similar.
According to CP, collaboration and comradeship are the hallmark of security and as such the Akwa Ibom Police Command under his watch is ready to partner with the NSCDC to secure the State.

The CP who was in company of his management team informed the NSCDC commandant that he was also in her office to register his appreciation for the Corp’s cooperation so far and that it is his intention to further strengthen the relationship for mutual interest.
Responding, the NSCDC Commandant Mrs. Obiajulu Obiageli told the CP and his entourage she was pleased and honoured to receive them at her office.
She noted that the need for both security agencies to synergize cannot be over emphasized.
The Commandant further stated that judging from the CP’s profile she has no doubt that both agencies will work assiduously to make Akwa Ibom and its environs safer.
