Taraba Police Smash Car Snatching Syndicate; Arrest House Robbers.

A syndicate of Car Snatchers has been smashed by Police operatives of the Taraba State Police command following repeated complaints about their nefarious activities.

Similarly, hoodlums who specialize in breaking into houses at night and stealing property were arrested by the police.

Suspects arrested are Bashir Mohammed, Abdullahi Mohammed, Shaanimi Muhammed and 5 others who are already charged to court.

Exhibit recovered from them include a Toyota Camry reg. No Kmc 79AP Kano and plasma TV.

A statement by Taraba Police Command said, “The above mentioned suspects are syndicate of car theft burglary and other heinous crimes.

“They are responsible for several crimes perpetrated in the state.

The statement said the three suspects led by Bashir Mohammed left Kaduna State to join his criminal gang in Jalingo, where they stole two cars from residents of the state.

“The unrelenting effort of the command couldn’t allow them to go to score free, they were apprehended. One of the cars earlier sold was recovered in Mubi Adamawa State.

“The other car was recovered here in Jalingo.

It said, “Another success was recorded where armed men who earlier attacked the resident of Dr. Mahmud and others, both lecturers  with State University Jalingo inflicted injuries on them and catered away with valuable items were also arrested.

“Similarly on the 28/09/17 the University quarters was also bugled and plasma TV taken by remnants of the syndicate. Suspects were arrested and items recovered.”
