Terror War: MNJTF decimate BHT networks in Lake Chad Fringes, Kill Many, Recover Armoured Carrier

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force battling to rid the Lake Chad fringes of Boko Haram terrorists in Operation Yancin Tafki have inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists activities leading to many deaths terrorists.

In an update titled ‘Operation Yancin Tafki’ , Boko Haram Suffer More Losses’, Col Timothy Antigha, Spokesman of MNJTF said, “In consonance with the determination of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to unhinge the structures of Boko Haram and dismantle it’s terror networks in the Lake Chad Area, Air and Ground Components of the Task Force have intensified air interdictions and mop up activities in the Area of Operation.

“In a recent engagement, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms as well as ground attack aircrafts from a coalition of Cameroonian, Niger and Nigerian Air Forces intercepted and destroyed Boko Haram Terrorists in Tunbum Rego, a prominent island in Lake Chad, believed to harbor High Valued Boko Haram Targets.

“In a related development, MNJTF troops from Sector 4 attacked Boko Haram assets in Arege, killing scores of terrorists in the process.

“A summary of personnel and equipment casualties suffered by Boko Haram in the last 2 days alone are shown below:

33 terrorists killed in Action., 2 Gun Trucks recovered, One Amoured Personnel Carrier destroyed, 2 Motor Cycles destroyed, One 120MM Motar Tube recovered, and 12 AK 47 Riffles recovered.

Others recoveries are 2 units 60MM Motar Bombs recovered, three Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Six (3736) rounds of assorted ammunition, One Binocular and two Hand Grenades recovered.

“The MNJTF wishes to warn individuals still associated with Boko Haram to surrender themselves for demobilization and rehabilitation, while the opportunity still exists”.
