Terrorism: PDP Chairman Advises FG on humanitarian crisis in N/East; Condoles Victims of Easter Day Bombings.

National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party ‎(PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has asked the federal government and the military to adopt new strategies to ensure that the humanitarian crisis in the North-East does not deteriorate.

The PDP boss in a statement on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Ike Abonyi, expressed worry that human lives were ‎still being lost despite efforts by the government to contain the insurgency situation in the North-East.

He condoled with the victims of Sunday suicide bombing in Belle village, near Maiduguri, the Borno State capital and appealed to the militants to embrace peace.

‎”President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC controlled federal government should ensure that the humanitarian situation in the North-East is not allowed to deteriorate.

“It’s a pity that in this country today human lives means nothing as innocent citizens continue to lose their lives daily with women and children worse hit,” he said.

‎He stressed the need to adjust the military operations in the region, arguing it became imperative given the disturbing record of the United Nations UN Coordination of Humanitarian Affair (OCHA) released Monday.

The UN report showed that 22 attacks were carried out against the people of the region in the most troubled states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa in the last three months.

120 persons were reported killed in the report.
