Towards Ensuring Synergy: Military, Para-military and Security Response Agencies Flag-Off Joint Route-March across the Nation, July 1, 2017.

In its determination to build synergy and ensure togetherness of purpose in the nation’s quest for peace and security, the Defence Headquarters is spare-heading a symbolic route march exercise that will involve all Military, Para-military and Response Agencies (FOSRRA) across the country.

The Route March Exercise titled ‘Together We Are’ which whose maiden event will take place on Saturday July 1 2017, in all the 36 State Capitals and Abuja, is to be conducted on quarterly basis.

Briefing the media in Abuja on Thursday of purpose of the route march, Director of Defence Information, Major General John Enenche disclosed that the slogan for the exercise which is ‘Together We Are’ has sub branches including “Protecting lives and property, enduring unity and progress as well as supporting democracy”.

General Enenche listed other sub branches of the slogan as “Upholding the constitution and defending national interests”.

The DDI further announced that the maiden ‘Together We Are’ route march will take place across the nation on 1st July adding, “The general public is hereby notified that there will be movement of troops and other security agencies in the course of the exercise.

“Your (general public) cooperation and understanding is highly solicited. Be rest assured that, ‘Together we, as members of the security and response agencies in Nigeria are always there to protect lives and property; ensure unity and progress, support democracy, uphold the constitution and defend our national interests’ Enenche said.   

Present at the briefing were the directors of Public Relations and Information as well as directors of sports of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, NSCDC, Immigration, Fire Service, EFCC, ICPC, FRSC, Nigerian Prisons, NDLEA, Centre for Crisis Communication, Customs and DSS.
