Troops Arrest 9 Vandals Stealing Bold Spikes of NNPC Floating Bouys in Lagos; Arrest Kidnappers in Ogun

The Nigerian Army said on Monday that it’s troops of 81 division, Lagos successfully arrested  a group of nine suspects, all hailing from Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, at Bonny Cantonment Mammy Market for vandalizing and stealing bold spikes attached to floating buoys belonging to the NNPC Atlas Curve Company.
The Army names the suspects Mr Sabiu Hashimu  20-year- old , Mr Fahadu Maaru  22- year- old,  Mr Muhammed Salaudeen  18- year-old, Mr Samaila Abubakar 20-year-old, Mr Abdul Ahmadu 19-year-old, Mr Nasiru Shuiabu 19-year-old, Mr Tanko Sani 20-year-old, Mr Safiyanu Madi 18-year-old and Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi 21-year-old.
The suspects have been handed over to appropriate security agencies for further investigations.
“In order to maintain the peace and tranquility in its Area of Responsibility (AOR), troops of 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA) acting on actionable intelligence successfully conducted series of operations across all fronts within the week, targeting criminal activities in Lagos and Ogun States.
‘These operations led to multiple arrests of suspects linked to kidnapping, theft, and vandalism.
“Notable among the arrests was that of a suspected kidnapper, identified as Usman Abubakar, a 27-year-old from Badudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
“Abubakar was apprehended while traveling from Benin, Edo State, to Epe, Lagos State. The suspect has been transferred to Benin for further investigation.
“Troops also apprehended 32-year-old Uche Kehinde Akwari at Elegushi Beach in Lagos while stealing building materials.
“The operations were carried out through a combination of foot and vehicle patrols.
“This demonstrates the troops’ commitment to disrupting criminal activities in the Division’s AOR reflect the Division’s renewed efforts to maintain peace and security while ensuring a safer environment for residents in its AOR.’
