The Nigerian Army said on Friday night that it’s troops of 401 Special Forces Brigade in a swift and decisive operation have successfully rescued 8 kidnapped passengers in Benue State.
The Army said, ‘the operation was conducted, following credible intelligence on an incident of kidnapping along Zaki Biam – Tine Nune road, Ukum LGA.

“Troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and rescued a Hiace Bus, belonging to Taraba Express International with Reg No KLD – 543XA, travelling from Onitsha to Jalingo with 10 passengers, including the driver.
‘On arrival at the scene, weary that troops were closing up on them, the criminal elements absconded with two passengers, while 8 others were rescued successfully.
“In a follow-up operation, troops are combing the general area to ensure the other two passengers are rescued.
“The 8 rescued victims are in good condition as efforts are ongoing to hand them over to the relevant authority.”
