Use Community Policing Tenets with Stakeholders combat criminality – CP Enugu charges DPOs

The Commissioner of Police Enugu State, Sulaiman Balarabe has reminded his officers and men on the need to continue to make their areas safe and secure through the use of community policing tenets which encourages partnership with relevant stakeholders.

He made this known on Monday 29th April 2019 during his weekly lecture with his Divisional Police Officers and senior officers of the command at the Commands Conference room.

According to the CP, Divisional Police Officers are encouraged to make use of their members of their Police Community Relations committee and other relevant stake holders within their areas of responsibility pointing out that community policing tenets promotes principles of proactive policing as well as intelligent led policing.

While also commending his officers and men on their crime preventive efforts, he charged them to be conducting raids of suspected criminal hideouts based on intelligent information.

He further enjoined officers to intensify their stop and search with a view to recovering exhibits as well as arresting suspects and warned that raiding and stop and search activities should not be turned into extortion tools as anyone caught will be made to face disciplinary action.

He has directed his monitoring unit and men of x-Squad of the command to fish out such erring officers and men for necessary disciplinary action.
