Following the outbreak of violence and touching of houses in Egbudu-Aka community over Kingship tussle, the police in Delta State have arrested 10 persons including the brother of the Obi of the village and nine other accomplices alleged to be the brains behind the violence and destructions.

While noting that normalcy has been restored in the community, reports from the office of Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Zanna said crack police teams have been deployed to the community to ensure security of lives and property.
The state which gave details of the mayhem in a statement entitled ‘Kingship Tussle and Breach of Public Peace’ said, “On Friday, 9th June 2017, at about 6am, combined teams of police personnel led by the Area Commander, Asaba, stormed the village of Egbudu-Aka and rescued the Obi, Paul Esemeka ‘57’ years and his wife, Theresa Esemeka and one George Nmemuku.
The Police said the houses of the trio were burnt to whose houses were burnt during the violence instigated by those arrested.
It named leader and sponsor of the violence as Solomon Obi Okoli who is the brother of the Obi of Egbudu-Aka adding that Solomon was arrested with nine other perpetrators of the mayhem.
“Normalcy has returned to the community and personnel of the police are maintaining the peace” the police said.
