War on Terror: Anglican Bishop of Maiduguri visits 7 Division; Commends Doggedness of Nigerian Soldiers.

The Anglican Bishop of Maiduguri Diocese, Rt. Revd. Emmanuel Morris has commended Officers and men of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army for the active role and services rendered by the Division in combating Boko Haram Terrorists noting that only God can reward them enough for the sacrifices.

The Bishop gave this commendation during his courtesy visit to the Headquarters 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maimalari cantonment, Maiduguri Borno state.

The Bishop who is also an Ambassador of Peace disclosed that God used the military to salvage the north East from Boko Haram invasion making it possible for the citizens to go about their lawful duties.

His words, “We are not ignorant of your sacrifices to this nation and that is what necessitated this visit to show our appreciation.

“You are peace makers and peace is a concept that has to do with life.

“We as religious leaders will continue to offer prayers for divine protection over you and your household”.

In his response, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Brigadier General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf thanked the Bishop for the visit which he said is a spiritual upliftment to the Division and the entire troops of Operation Lafiya Dole.

He stated that religious harmony is key to sustainable peace in a secular society like Nigeria and called for better understanding and tolerance among religious leaders in the country. 

The GOC also used the opportunity of the visit to solicit for supports of the religious leaders in the ongoing operation to flush out Boko Haram in the region by giving relevant information that will aid the troops in their operation.
