Wike Alleges Plot to bomb his plane; Police say they are unaware.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Thursday alleged plot by his political enemies to bomb his plane, saying the alleged plot would fail.

The governor who was speaking in Port Harcourt at an end-of-year party by his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state alleged plot to bomb his plane was part of perceived desperation by his detractors to eliminate him.

But he insisted that no man could destroy whom God had lifted even as he claimed that All Progressives Congress, APC, was unhappy with the successes recorded by his administration since he came on board.

Declaring that he would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the state, Wike spoke of his government’s resolve to guarantee security of life and property in the state.

He noted that those who wanted blood to flow in the state would not succeed with their evil dream.

The governor said the state was peaceful and recalled that on December 10 during the re-run elections, leaders of the opposition party allegedly invaded the state with security agencies allegedly maiming and killing innocent voters with an intention to allegedly rig the elections.

“They said they would blow up the plane that I would board. You, who are plotting, do you know whether God will blow your own plane before that time?

“What is this thing about Rivers State? Why should a man spill blood if he is so loved?

“If a man is loved and popular, let him present himself. They should allow peace to reign. It is like some people want trouble so that they will make blood money.

“You say, let us not embarrass a man who is not popular. What about the innocent lives lost? All those who do not sleep and plan evil against Rivers, will never know peace.

“I have supported Mr. President by supporting security agencies in the protection of key national assets in the state.

“That is why the destruction of national assets in other states is not happening here.

“They said one man one vote, and we decided to support them to achieve that. But while we were campaigning, they were plotting to rig elections.

“We dedicated our campaigns to God from the beginning. We knelt down before our God at St. Paul’s Cathedral.”

Regarding the panel set up by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, the governor said it was constituted with a clear motive to allegedly rope him with all forms of trumped up charges.

He claimed that the allegations against him by the Department of State Services, DSS, to sponsor violence in Abuja, were part of the plot to allegedly link him with acts of treason.

Assuring Rivers people that his administration would not let them down, Wike stressed that the state had been redeemed from those who did not mean any good for it.

Contacted on the allegation, the Police in Rivers state said they were not aware of the plot to bomb the governor’s plane.
