Towards improving the cordial relationship with Traditional Institutions and also to foster Civil-Military Relationships in Yobe State, the Emir of Machina HRH Alh Dr. Bashir Albishir Bukar (OON), the Emir of Nguru HRH Alh Mustapha Ibn Mai Kyari and the Emir of Bade who also doubles as the Deputy Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers HRH Alh Mai Abubakar Umar Suleiman ha on Tuesday pledged to support troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the North East Region in the areas of information sharing and intelligence.
A statement signed by Assistant Director Army Public Relations, OPHK Sector 2, Captain Kennedy Anyanwu, the Emirs made the pledge while receiving the Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North East) OPHK, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso in their various palaces in Yobe State.
The Emirs in their separate remarks, thanked the Commander and his entourage for finding time to visit their Emirates.
They also applauded the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in Yobe State for technically defeating insurgency and restoring relative peace in the State.
They also appreciated the security services for ensuring peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Yobe State.
The Royal Fathers further reiterated their Emirates’ readiness to continually build on the restored peace in the State to pave more ways for Socio-Economic Activities and Development to thrive.
The Emirs offered their blessings and prayers for the Sector Commander and his troops for successful tour of duty in the State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Sector 2 Commander Major General Saraso stated that the visits were part of his familiarization tours to Military Formations and Units under his command.
He added that he also found it necessary and rewarding to register his presence, pay his respect and seek for royal blessings and guidance from the Emirate Councils which is inline with Nigerian Army Customs and Traditions.
The General further extolled the virtues of the reverred Monarchs as custodians of cultures and values. He thanked them also for their roles in maintaining a relatively peaceful environment in Yobe State. The Commander ended his remarks by seeking for more support from the royal fathers for enhanced Civil – Military Relations in the State.
Similarly, General Saraso visited 241 Battalion Nguru where he was received, briefed and conducted round the Unit as well as troops deployment in Machina by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Osabo.
General Saraso also visited 159 Battalion at Gashua and one of the Unit’s duty locations at Kanama where he was also briefed and conducted round by the Commanding Officer Lt Col Dauda Sikiru.
The senior officer addressed officers and soldiers at all the locations visited urging them to remain apolitical, disciplined and dedicated to their assigned duties at all times.
