Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar on Wednesday ordered contractors handling construction and expansion of the proposed Army Girls Command Secondary School, Gusau to complete and handover site within one week.
The Gov, who gave the order when he paid an unscheduled visit to the school, said the site must be ready for handing over to the military authorities by next week.
The school site which is located at Anguwar Barakallahu in Gusau metropolis was pledged to the Nigerian Army late last year by the Yari administration as part of his government commitment to the improvement of social and educational needs of the Nigerian Army.
The Governor said the directed became imperative in view of the urgency involved in the commencement of the school academic year.
The contract which includes reconstruction of blocks of hostels, renovation on all the building structures, furnishing and equipping of library, laboratories, staff quarters and students’ accommodation is to ensure the successful take-off of the institution by next month.
Some of the new structures in the school include a Mosque, staff quarters and hostels.
