7 KILLED AS TROOPS RECORD MORE VICTORY AGAINST TERRORISTS
In their continuous efforts of clearing the remnants of Boko Haram in various hideouts and enclaves, troops of 7 Brigade, 8 Task Force Division, have also embarked on clearance operations, since yesterday in which they cleared Boko Haram hideouts ahead of Gratte in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
A statement from Army headquarters said, “During the clearance operation, the troops killed 7 Boko Haram terrorists including a notorious kingpin popularly known as the Albani of Monguno.
“The troops also recovered 2 Vehicles, 7 motorcycles 1 AK-47 rifle, 2 Boko Haram terrorists hoisted flags, 3 vehicle tyres, 1 vulcanizing machine, 1 solar panel and bundles of chewing stick (Aswaki), which the terrorists believed has spiritual and medicinal values.
“It is gratifying to report that the troops’ morale remains high as they dominate the general area with a robust fighting patrol in continuation with the clearance operations.

Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters disclosed on Tuesday that Boko Haram terrorists in their desperation to unleash terror on the people as they are fleeing military onslaught, have laid landmines on stretches of farm land in the North East.
A statement signed by Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, Acting Director Defence Information sad, “The Defence headquarters wishes to inform the general public particularly those in the North East that in their desperation to unleash terror on the people, the fleeing remnant terrorists have laid land mines on stretches of farm land.
“It is also instructive to alert the public that terrorists now operate with horses to carry out attacks on isolated villages and communities along fringes of our borders in the North East.
“A recent attack using horses readily come to mind in this regard.
“These latest tactics of the terrorists is a grand design to cause fear and panic among the farmers as well as the local populace.
“The security forces will continue to be on their trail until they are completely flushed out of our country.
“While the military and other security forces are doing everything possible to neutralize these mine threats, individuals and citizens are advised to be mindful of strange and suspicious objects in their farmlands and localities.
“They are also to be weary of those coming on horses as they can be terrorists and to report same to the security forces for prompt action.”
