As the Nigerian military spearheaded by the Army finally uprooted Boko Haram from its epicenter in Sambisa Forest, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai has disclosed that the terrorists made the mistake of taking on the wrong fighting force, the Nigerian Army.
He said the sect which have in the last seven years pushed for the establishment of an Islamic State and bring an end to Western education in the region ‘picked the wrong fight against the wrong enemy’.
Speaking through the Chief of Logistics, Army headquarters, Major General Patrick Akem, at Goneri and Bununyadi, two frontline locations where the Army is currently prosecuting the Boko Haram war in Yobe State, Buratai said the army would work hard to defeat those undermining the nation’s security.
Recall that the COAS had deplored very senior officers to celebrate the Christmas with troops fighting the Boko Haram insurgency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, with the aim of giving them a sense of belonging while at the battle field.
