Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), have eliminated 10 Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) sa they foiled the terrorists attack in Lake Chad fringes.
Sources said the insurgents attempted an attack on troops location in four mounted guntrucks and with several AK 47 rifles at Malam Fatori town of Abadam local government Area of Borno State on April 2, 2022.
The source disclosed that the vigilant troops of Operation Lake Sanity, spotted the VBIED (Gun Trucks) deployed by the terrorists approaching and promptly thwarted what could have been an audacious assault against the troops.
“The resilient troops of Sector 4 repelled the incursion and in the process killed 10 insurgents and wounded several others,” he said.
The sources said that they recovered, 1 Gun Truck, 10 AK-47 rifles with 12 rounds of ammunition, 133 rounds of Anti Aircraft ammunition, 1 Anti Aircraft Gun, 26 rounds of M80 rifle, 12 rounds of 7.62 mm, 1 ISWAP flag, 1IED, 2 blankets and personal items among others.
In a similar development on April 3, 2022, the troops of Sector 4 embarked on agressive patrol along the river Kamadaugou- Yobe in Nigerian side from Gashigar.
The Troops cleared many insurgents enclaves with divastating impact on the terrorists in the axis of Bouni Goni, Kangueri, Allah A and harboured before Talatangam.

The intensified intelligence-led counter Insurgency ground, and aerial offensives by the Nigerian Army; Nigerian Air- Force and regional states Chad, Niger and Cameroon has been sustained on identified jihadist hideouts in the Lake Chad region.
The current sustained operations under Operation “Lake Sanity” was designed to compliment the ongiong Operation Desert Sanity in Sambisa Forest, targeting mainly Jihadist hideouts in the complex mountain and complex Islands of the Lake Chad Axis.
Similarly, troops of Nigerian Army deployed under Operation Desert Sanity have reportedly killed two Boko Haram (BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State,”Zagazola Learnt.
Sources said the terrorists were killed after they came in contact with the troops of 195 Battalion in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force during a fighting patrol at Munzulum general area, 48KM from Khaddamari, in Jere Local Government area of Borno State.
The source said the patrol team also cleared Malis, Gidde, Ladin Mbuta, Alkidau, Fuye and Dumge villages which were suspected to be habouring some terrorists.
“At Munzulum general area, the troops came in contact with terrorists Mounted on 3 Motor cycles with 2 fighters each, the troops defeated them superior fire power which forced them to withdraw to their newly established camp, where the two terrorists were eventually nutrialised and the camp destroyed.
The sources said “No casualty was recorded on own troops noting that Items recovered include: 2 Motor Cycles and 1 mobile phone
Furthermore, the sources that the Operation was in continuation of ongoing efforts to deny terrorists freedom of action in its area of responsibility under Operation Desert Sanity
