Troops of Multi National Joint Task Force, MNJTF at the weekend neutralized scores of ISWAP terrorists including a top Commander, Habu Mukhtadah during clearance offensives in the fringes of Lake Chad.
An Intelligence source disclosed that the terrorists were neutrialised at Tumbun Dilla, Tumbum Jamina and Tumbun Rago in the fringes of Kukawa Local Government Area between 27th and 28 May, 2022.
The source said troops of 198 Special Forces Brigade and the Chadian Forces of the MNJTF, made first contact with the terrorists at Tumbum Dilla, and engaged them in a swift battle resulting to the killing of some of the fighters while others escaped with bullet wounds.
He said that the unrelenting troop’s chased the terrorists toward the axis of Tumbum Jamina, where they killed one additional terrorists who was injured and could not be able to run as others ran into the river.

“The precise intelligence led air strike resulted in the killing of scores of high value fighters and a Unit Commander, whose name was given as Habu Mukhtadah and also known as Alhaji Sak” while many more were seriously injured.
“The troops further proceeded to Tumbun Rago and Tumbun Fulani and engaged the terrorists in another battle forcing them to retreat and abandon a 3 year old child who was rescued by own troops.
“Unfortunately, we lost one Babagana Modu, member of a Civilian Joint Task Force, who was shot from a distance by ISWAP terrorists. His corpse was evacuated to Monguno for burial”, the source said
