Officers and Men of Headquarters Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Wednesday 21 June 2017 received medals for gallantry at a parade organised by the Multi-national Joint Task Force.
The Medal Presentation parade which took place at MNJTF complex at Farcha, Ndjamena, Republic of Chad, was witnessed by the Executive Secretary and Head of Mission Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) Engr. Sanusi Imran Abdullahi.
A statement by Col Mustapha Anka, spokesman of MNJTF said, the General Chief of Defence Staff Chad, Lt. Gen. Mahamat Ibrahim Said, Service Chiefs and Commanders from Chadian Armed Forces were also in attendance.
Speaking at the occasion, outgoing Force Commander (FC), Major General Lamidi Adeosun thanked all the guests for honouring the invitation and requested a minute silence for the souls of the gallant officers and soldiers that paid the supreme price in the discharge of duties.
He specially thanked the Executive Secretary and Head of Mission LCBC for supporting MNJTF in the provision of medals and other logistics.
General Adeosun expressed gratitude to the General Chief of Defence Staff Chad, whom he said contributed his great military experience towards the successes of the MNJTF operations.
The FC acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the strategic partners from the Centre for Coordination and Liaison (CCL) that comprise United States, United Kingdom and France even as he emphasised the importance of medals to troops on both national and international operations.
General Adeosun thanked all the awardees and congratulated them for being part of the historic success story of MNJTF.
On his part, the head of mission, Engr. Sanusi Imran Abdullahi thanked the Heads of States of LCBC countries and Benin Republic for their engagements and determination towards restoring peace and security in the Lake Chad Basin.
 He specially thanked President Idriss Deby Itno, of the Republic of Chad for his continuous support to the force.
The Executive Secretary and Head of Mission used the forum to thank the General Chief of Defence Staff, Chad, as well as the other Service Chiefs, troops from LCBC countries and Benin Republic their commitments towards eradication of Boko Haram terrorism in the region.
The event witnessed the decoration of the outgoing FC which was performed by the Executive Secretary for LCBC, thereafter officers and men were decorated by the Special Guest of Honour and other dignitaries
In his address at the occasion, the General Chief of Defence Staff Chad, Lt General Ibrahim Said expressed satisfaction with the performance of the force and pledged continuous and relentless support of the Chadian government in general and military in particular towards success of MNJTF operations.
