
The Chairperson, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), FCT Chapter, Hajia Maimuna Ahmed Sanusi, in collaboration with the Police Command has provided five boreholes to address acute water challenges is some Police barracks in Abuja.
A statement by Spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh said the FCT Police Command had earlier identified access to potable water as one of the most pressing basic needs across several Police barracks within the Capital Territory.
Adeh said the challenge was affecting the welfare and daily lives of police families residing in the barracks.

“FCT POWA engaged the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi and facilitated the provision of boreholes to improve access to clean and reliable water for police personnel and their families.

“The intervention is part of the Command’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of officers and their families, recognising that access to basic amenities such as water is essential to creating a healthy and conducive living environment within Police barracks.
“The Commissioner of Police appreciates the Chairperson, POWA FCT Chapter, for the timely intervention and commitment to the wellbeing of Police families.
He noted that improved welfare remains vital to boosting the morale and effectiveness of officers in the discharge of their responsibilities to the people of the FCT.
