
The Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence, Mrs Bosede Olaniyi on Thursday 8th October, 2026 reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to excellence, professionalism and efficient service delivery as it marked the end of 2026 Customer Service Week with rewards and recognition to six of its staff for their outstanding performance in the discharge of their duties.
Mrs Olaniyi stated this during the closing ceremony of the Customer service week at the Ministry’s headquarters , Ship House Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Olaniyi commended the reward recipients for their outstanding contributions, stressing that excellence in service delivery remains critical to the effective functioning of the Ministry in the achievement of its mandate.
Emphasizing that the ceremony, provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate personnel who have demonstrated exemplary commitment, professionalism and dedication in the discharge of their duties, she urged staff to uphold the core values of professionalism, integrity, efficiency and accountability as every staff has a role to play in building a responsive and service-oriented Ministry.

“The recognition of outstanding staff is not only a reward for good performance but an encouragement for others to strive for higher standards of service in the overall interest of the nation” she added.

Olaniyi encouraged staff to see Customer Service as a collective responsibility, stressing the importance of treating colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
Earlier in her remarks, the Director Reform Coordination and Service Improvement Mrs Ogidi- Paul noted that the individuals that were recognized at the event have distinguished themselves through their commitment, dedication and demonstration of excellent customer service in their various capacities.
She thanked the Director, overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary for her invaluable support, leadership and commitment towards the successful organization of the 2026 Customer Service Week.
She disclosed that the achievements recorded throughout this week-long celebration would not have been possible without her encouragement, guidance and unwavering support.
She also appreciated the management team for their support and participation.
The high point of the event was the presentation of the reward by Mrs Olaniyi to the six recipients which include: Gaiya I. Reuben, Haruna Abdullahi, CPL Akawu Blessing Uweng, Usman Shuaibu, Abubakar Idris and Isah Gunduma
The recipients expressed appreciation to the Ministry for the kind gesture.
